The cut flowers industry is becoming very important, especially for developed countries like Kenya, where it provides income for up to two million people. The organic flower industry has a long reputation for employing a low paid work force in poor working conditions, with the aim of bringing down the price of stems to as low as possible. Workers put in long hours, stay in overcrowded housing and have limited options to protect their interests. Even though the conditions have improved in the last years, there are still a lot of challenges to tackle.
